NATIVE ARICA SPECIAL 2021
WE ARE A LITTLE SPOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE UNIVERSE
FULL OF SHAPES AND COLORS
BUT OUR PLANET IS SICK.
IN LESS THAN TEN YEARS THE DAMAGE WILL BE IRREVERSIBLE.
LUCKILY, INDIGENOUS PEOPLES TEACH US
TO PRESERVE LIFE
LISTENING TO THEM AND RESPECTING THEM IS URGENT
HERE WE ARE, FROM THE HEIGHTS PRESERVING OUR TREASURES
HERE WE ARE, REFORESTING DREAMS
HERE WE ARE, CREATING THE LIVING PRESENT
HERE WE ARE, RECOVERING THE MEMORY
HERE WE ARE, OUR LANGUAGE IS IDENTITY AND RESISTANCE
HERE WE ARE AND HERE WE WILL BE

The 2021 curatorial proposal opens a space to distinguish works that make multiculturalism visible and that promote respect and conservation of the cultural and natural environment, especially of native peoples and rural communities.
As we celebrate our 16th birthday, we dedicate this new installment of the Festival with affection to the rural and indigenous communities of the world, who today, more than ever and urgently, must listen carefully...
