About the event
REBELS AND BRAVE (1913-2019)
Gabriela Yepes, Peruvian film director and researcher, invites us to review the work done by women and dissidents in the history of Peruvian cinematographic practice, tracing the origin and evolution of gender inequality behind the camera, which continues to this day.
FILM SEVEN SYMPHONIES OF ZAGROS
Synopsis:The documentary "Seven Symphonies of Zagros" narrates the philosophy of seven musical maqams of the oldest wind instrument (Shamshal) in the life of the people of Zagros. The Seven Maqams are narrated by an old man who spent 65 years of his life playing the Shamshal. Seven is considered a sacred number in different religions.
Synopsis:Juan, a 32-year-old man who is unaware of the importance of his legacy, must begin to investigate his roots and traditions, avoiding losing the lands left to him by the late Angelica and all of this falls to his famous Tabacum.
MANCO CAPAC FILM
Synopsis:Elisban arrives in the city of Puno, too late to meet his friend Hermogenes, with whom he was going to work. Homeless and penniless, he survives from small unstable jobs, in a city that sharpens his loneliness at every turn. The inertia of continuing to walk can lead you to a better destination.
Synopsis:At the end of winter, Flaminio, a shepherd, prepares himself materially and spiritually for the arrival of spring through daily rituals, using the tools that he himself built: he moves and sows the earth, shears the sheep and makes a woolen suit for the new station. The communities of the valley drive away the winter with cowbells and bonfires through the ritual of the Scasada dol Zenerù, which is inserted into the story of the shepherd's life as a dreamlike element that appeals to an ancestral memory. Flaminio's sensitivity, strongly connected to Nature, allows him to perceive when it is time to call the community to act, initiating the ritual.
FILM THE DANCE OF THE BLACKBIRDS
Synopsis:The most recognized Amazonian cumbia band, Los Mirlos, has as its history the synthesis of a musical genre that arises from ancestry, family and the exploration of other rhythms, such as psychedelic rock from the 60's. Together with the leader and vocalist of the band, Jorge Rodríguez, we embark on a journey to the heart of Latin America.
